So I was helping my mother sort through old horse tack and found this. It’s a bit, entitled a Tom Thumb bit, about the length of my hand and weighs about a pound, made of metal. 

Of course, since I’ve been thinking about murder mysteries lately, the first thing that popped into my head when I grabbed it is, “Damn. This is a murder weapon.”
