Rebecca was always a very shy little girl, and her parents completely dominated her because of that. Stephen was less shy—he’s actually quite talkative, if you get him on the right subject and put him in a room of people he’s comfortable with—but he’s very introverted, and his mother is so domineering that he usually just shuts up and gives her her own way. Always has.

Mmmm…Alexis was against it more than Frances was, to turn the tables. Alexis knew more about Theodore than Frances did, after all, and he’d heard nasty things about this Texan cowboy. It took a long time for either of them to warm up to the idea of their little girl getting married, however. It was only once Theodore saved Lizzy’s life (in an upcoming oneshot, ohohoho) that they stopped outright glaring at him.

Edward and Theodore. Ohhhh, Edward and Theodore. They beat the shit out of each other right when Edward first heard about Lizzy’s engagement; Theo held his own and even broke Edward’s nose, so that earned Eddy’s grudging respect. Now they get along fabulously.

Mmmm…if we’re talking the previous ask, then I believe it was Theo who asked Ciel to date. Neither of them proposed (at least, not in the Victorian era; that was a DEFINITE no-no) but if we’re talking modern AU probably…Theo actually. Ciel would be too gruff about the whole damn thing.

I wanted to tell the book thief many things, about beauty and brutality, but what could I tell her about those things that she didn’t already know? I wanted to explain that I am constantly overestimating and underestimating the human race- that rarely do I ever simply estimate it. I wanted to ask her how the same thing could be so ugly and so glorious, and its words and stories so damning and brilliant. None of those things, however, came out of my mouth. All I was able to do was turn to Liesel Meminger and tell her the only truth I truly know. I said it to the book thief and I say it now to you. I am haunted by humans.
